Sushi?

Is this gorgeous or what. As all who know me, know I do not do any kind of sea anything. JP got an idea the other night and band me from the kitchen. He made these beauties all by himself. It is cake cut in rounds, covered in white frosting and then rolled in coconut flakes (rice). He colored fondant and made roe to top them with along with berries and apricots. He then wrapped the cakes in green fruit roll up. Oh my gosh, so creative and so yummy. I love when his brain goes wild. The big ones are sushi mi.

Love that man.

Last day of School

2009-2010 School year.

First day of school on left.

Last of school on right.

Not a huge change, but a little.

Fun with the girls hair

I have recently remembered that I know how to braid. Girly is almost 8 (ahhh, what a thought) and I just now remembered? What's up with that? Anyway, I have been having a lot of fun with it. Doing so many different things with it. Here are just a couple I happened to take pict's of. I'll have to remember to shot some of the cooler ones soon.

Garden Update

From this .....

to this,

And tomato's too.

I actually made a sandwich using our own tomato and lettuce. I love being able to pick lettuce as I want it and not worrying about it going bad in the fridge.

Can't wait for the cuc's and carrots. We just prepared another larger garden box yesterday. Corn, pumkins, beans, watermelon you name it. A garden monster may have just been born.

Cake Master To Be

Girly so wanted to make and decorate a cake for me for my birthday last month all by herself. I did have to help her bake the cake, make the frosting and cover the base (a little) but the rest she did do on her own. She wants to be the next Duff or Cake Boss. Thanks for doing your best babe it was GREAT!

End of the School Year

What a Fabulous day over all!

I went to the kids school today to help with Speed's end of the year party. When I got there the whole school was at an assembly. The guest of honor was our very own PHX SUNS Gorilla. So much fun. You should have heard the volume of those kids yelling "Beat LA" over and over again. Loud kid voice's in a confined space, wow!
Next it was on to the 3rd grade festivities. Outside games. This was the fruit relay. You have to put a piece of fruit between your legs and get it down to a bowl and drop it in without using your hands. Hilarious!
There was beach ball volleyball and other games I didn't get to see because my station was the fruit relay and I couldn't wonder, but they sounded fun from where I was.
Speed was having so much fun he even let me get a picture with him. And he smiled, can you believe it. It sure made me happy.
After the games were over and I was on my way out, Girly was in line for lunch. See saw me, ran over, gave me a kiss and hug and Begged me to stay and have lunch with her. So I did. I sat with a table full of 1st graders and watched them eat their lunches, sort of. Did you know a lot of 1st grade girls talk so much during lunch that they end up not eating a lot? I do now. Anyway it was cute. One little girl came and sat by me all excited and started telling me all about her and what she had done, like we had known each other for a very long time. She was quiet for a little while she actually eat most of her lunch and then out of the blue she was hugging me so very tight. I was a sweet surprise. She smiled up at me, turned to finish her lunch and that was the end of it. Humm? It was a fun interesting lunch with my daughter.

summers past

This picture means a lot to me. Just wanted to share it with anyone else out there that might care.

Sherwood girl cousins in the early 80's.

Sorry I can't make it bigger.

Spring Break Fun

So way back in March during spring break Kandi and the girls came over from Cali. and Ryan and Cindy were here for his work. We had so much fun with them and it gave my kids the chance to re meet Mady and us to see Lana for the first time. So cute, so fun. Did I mention that they wanted to go swimming even though the pool was freezing!

They made an Easter cake, great idea Kandi.

My favorite picture of Mom and Ryan.

The Maricopa crew came up and Soni and Lana meet. Mmmmm lemons.

She also really likes Lady GaGa, dang it. (Not because I want her to!) Her favorite song is Paparazzi. She really thinks it's all about Papa Ross. She sings over and over again "Papa Rossy".
I love pure sweet innocence.
